The Fall season always revjuvenates my creative spirit, and even though summer is not over yet, I am amping up for the anticipatory cooler months ahead.
I have been busily knitting stocking caps and researching pattern possibilities for vests in the style of Aran knits or possibly slip-stitch patterns (I love intarsia but became quickly discouraged years ago when I attempted my first project). In the meantime, I have been helping my daughter learn to knit and she has taken on the task at full speed. She is well on the way to her first neck scarf warmer. She can't wait to add the finishing fringe touch, possibly adding beads and fringe.
Soon, incorporating beads into my knitting will be another one of my learning experiences, as I have come across a wonderful YouTube video that shows how to do this in much easier steps that the laborious string on of 300+ beads before beginning to knit! Continually learning and experimenting are the best things I have found in knitting that keep me interested and amused. I have so much more to learn - crocheting, dyeing, spinning and felting. Here's to the season ahead!
