Many knitters claim they are not inspired to knit during the summer, when the temperatures are soaring and the feeling of yarn against their bare legs is irriatating. I also use to feel that way until I developed an appreciation for cotton yarns.
I am currently working on a Classic Elite cotton yarn with slubs, in a medium pacific blue color. The pattern is a sleeveless shell from an old Baruffa (Lane Borgosesia) pattern book B.126 number M-661. I have finally added the extra stitches needed by increasing the number or repeats in the pattern from 9 to 10, while maintining the cable pattern. I am so proud of myself, I am beside myself!
I favor cable patterns and as we approach the Fall, I am looking forward to creating a knit vest in a mustard-gold Donegal tweed. I love knitting in the Fall when the summer is transitioning to the Fall. I feel rejuvenated and inspired to create lovely classsics for Winter.
Happy Knitting,
Eileen
